THE PUB THAT DREADED SUNDOWN
Come Saturday, July 9th, 12 of Australia’s East Coast’s most lethal audio mutilators will descend upon The Newcastle Hotel to unleash unequivocal maniacal mayhem. Dedicated to those drenched in distortion, speed and heaviness, the mini-fest amalgamates a range of genres, including death metal, punk, sludge, fastcore, grind, hardcore & thrash metal to ensure a day/eve of face ripping musical indulgence.
Headlining the event are one of Australia’s most prolific cross-over bands, Black Rheno! Since 2015, the hard-working 3 piece have put out 3 releases and toured the country relentlessly, and as a result, they’ve honed their in-your-face frantic live show to a T. Joining them at the top end of the bill are a new Canberra “supergroup” hammering out the d-beat hardcore attack, Street Trash, retro obsessed death metal powerhouse Carnal Viscera, and for the first time playing live in N.S.W, thrashing death metal upstarts Nembutlik from Frankston, Victoria.
Joining them we have the Swedish inspired death metal from Sydney’s The Plague, young death thrash guns Gosika, the unrelenting brutal death metal emitted by 12Gauge Rampage, Dole Bludga’s heavy grinding punk, crazy crackedcore by Durry, the no bullshit hardcore via Two Faced, blistering fastcore from the legendary Disparo!, and opening the show will be grinding punk madmen, Strip The Dog.
